A southeast El Paso County wildfire Monday afternoon and prompted hundreds to evacuate was ignited by sparks from a chimney, authorities say.

The blaze — — consumed a few outbuildings but no homes southeast of Colorado Springs.

More than 600 homes were evacuated at the height of the fire, but those orders to flee have since been lifted. Authorities have not said what sparked the fire, which was located southeast of Colorado Springs.

“The fire has been determined an accidental fire and no criminal charges will be,” the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said on Friday.
