The numbers say it all — 14.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 2.0 steals. Ellen Nystrom’s per game averages in conference play were off the charts.

The stats also made it quite obvious who was the best player in the Mountain West in 2017 as the league announced Monday that the Colorado State senior guard from Sweden has been named the conference player of the year for the second season in a row.

Nystrom is the third player in MW women’s history to win the award multiple times and just the second in program history, joining Becky Hammon.

For the season, the guard from Lulea, Sweden, set career highs in scoring, rebounding, steals and minutes per game.

CSU senior forward Elin Gustavsson, who averaged 16.4 points and 6.2 rebounds, was also named to the 10-member all-conference team.
