Regarding the ongoing “will they or won’t they?” drama, it turns out that, yes, meatballs and eggs benedict will get together after all. Maggiano’s Little Italy, the 25-year-old Italian chain, introduced its first ever menu change in the restaurant’s history — a new brunch menu that introduces us to that hot new food couple, The Meatball Benedict.

Besides the Meatball Benedict, which is, like it sounds, a classic eggs benedict with a smooshed meatball in place of the ham, Maggiano’s added 11 other brunch items, mostly Italian-American mash-ups of breakfast classics. There’s the Chicken Francese Benedict (lightly breaded chicken with a white wine and lemon sauce) and Lemon Ricotta Pancakes for something sweeter.

Full brunch will be served on weekends, while weekdays get an abbreviated, five-item menu. No word on whether or not the Meatball Benedict will make the daily rotation, so you should probably just go to Maggiano’s for breakfast everyday.
