Pinball is nothing if not a game of playing the rebound, and two local entrepreneurs are hoping to capitalize on the bounce in popularity the pastime is enjoying.
Kevin Kelm and Gary Rechnitz have leased space on one of the busiest corners in downtown Loveland for The Flipside, a pinball “barcade” they plan to open this summer.
Kelm said The Flipside will have a full bar, about 15 pinball machines, a handful of video games and amusements such as air hockey, bubble hockey and Skee-Ball in the 2,900-square-foot space at 140 E. Fourth St.
The Flipside will take over the ground floor of the renovated Loveland Opera House building, formerly known as the Arcadia Hotel, at the southwest corner of Fourth Street and Cleveland Avenue.
Most of the barcade’s machines will cost 50 cents per game, although newer games may cost 75 cents. On slower nights, The Flipside will switch to a cover charge with free game play.
