Return of the Grinch. A Honda Odyssey van in the 8000 block of West 68th Avenue had its rear window smashed March 1 after someone threw a Christmas tree through it. The cost of the damage was unknown. There are no suspects.

ղٳٱ-ٲ.On Feb. 26, Arvada police responded to reports of yelling in the 5600 block of Kipling Parkway. A husband and wife were arguing. The husband, who appeared intoxicated, denied having consumed any alcohol that night, but his brother who was also on scene, confirmed that the husband had drank a pint of vodka before the police arrived. The husband was arrested for violation of a protection order that stated he was not to possess or consume alcohol.

Too late to say sorry. Arvada police were dispatched to King Soopers, 6350 Sheridan Blvd., on Feb. 28 after a loss prevention officer watched a woman conceal a number of products in her purse and then walk out of the store without paying. When confronted, the woman claimed it was a misunderstanding as she thought her husband, who she met up with at the front of the store, had paid for the items already. Once the police arrived, the suspect admitted to stealing, became apologetic and tried to pay for the items, which cost $48.33. She was issued a municipal summons for theft.

Collateral damage. On March 1, three employees of a moving company were unloading the belongings of a client in the 10300 block of West 62nd Place, Arvada. When they were finished they charged their quoted price of $1,152, but the customer was only able to front $740. The employees said they would need to keep some belongings as collateral as per the company contract. The woman became upset and shoved one of the employees. The woman’s son paid for the remainder of the bill, but the police were still called, and she was cited with harassment.
