An overdue climber in the Elk Mountains of Pitkin County has been found after spending two nights in the wilderness.
The climber, Ryan David Montoya, 23, suffered frostbite and other possible injuries, according to the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office.
Searchers looking for Montoya on Monday he had built and used, but he was not in it at the time. Montoya was climbing in the Pyramid Peak area, south of Aspen, when he was reported missing Sunday night.
Members of Mountain Rescue Aspen continued the search Tuesday morning and found Montoya.
