A 27-year-old man was convicted Thursday of sexual assault on a child for attacking a 13-year-old girl in front of an acrobatics and dance studio in Thornton in 2015.
Prosecutors say Ruben Jesus Sifuentes was seen loitering around Urban Acrobatics at 720 West 84th Ave. on Dec. 16, 2015.
“When two girls exited the business and were in the process of getting into a vehicle to go home,” the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office says, “Sifuentes charged the girls (and) opened the rear passenger door.”
He then and the girl kicked.
Sifuentes faces a mandatory prison term of 10 to 32 years to life. His sentencing is set for May 16.
