A 33-year-old veteran missing since Saturday night has been found safe by Weld County deputies and will be reunited with his family soon, Broomfield police said Monday.

Cory Hixson, who suffered a traumatic brain injury during his service and received a Purple Heart, had last been seen around  9:30 p.m. Saturday near West Midway Boulevard and Via Varra Drive in Broomfield.

According to police, Hixson’s injury caused memory loss and trouble navigating. He does not drive but is physically fit and is able to walk or run long distances.
