The Big Wonderful bringing the party to former Post printing plant in Globeville

The festival and pop-up marketplace will kick off fourth season May 5-7 with three days and two nights of festivities

has a new home for its fourth season of food, beer, music and shopping.

The festival and pop-up marketplace will take over the former Denver Post printing plant building at 4400 Fox St. in Denver’s Globeville neighborhood, organizers announced Monday.

The season kicks off May 5-7 — Kentucky Derby weekend — with three days and two nights of festivities, including live bluegrass music, food trucks and the return of the popular Night Bazaar. More than 20 craft breweries and distilleries will be pouring unlimited beer, cider and spirit samples during the festival’s Kentucky Derby Slamgrass Beerfest on May 6.

Founded in 2014, in Denver’s Curtis Park neighborhood.  pushed the festival out of its home last year, with the all summer, including the .

The hope is for The Big Wonderful to stay at the Globeville site all season, although only the first weekend in May is locked in, founder Josh Sampson said. Additional festivals are planned for July, September and December.

“We’re going bigger, less times,” Sampson said. “The goal is to be quarterly, but we’re really just promoting this one event right now.”

Festival organizers are also looking to plant an urban farm at its new Globeville home, with help from UpDIG and Revision.
