Live comedy shows and podcast tapings that pit stand-ups against non-comedians have been popular for years now, but there’s nothing else like Peter McGraw’s “Funny or True?”
The University of Colorado professor and co-author of “The Humor Code” returns to Boulder’s Dairy Center for the Arts on March 18 with another pair of comics — and scientists — who will answer questions that audience members can then vote on using their smartphones. The funniest, or “truthiest,” win (but really, everybody does) in this battle of wits and intellect, featuring comics Shane Mauss (Los Angeles) and Janae Burris (Denver) and scientists/academics Stefanie Johnson and Bill Farrand.
The show begins at 7:30 p.m. at 2590 Walnut St. in Boulder. Tickets: $20-$25.
