A fire was started Sunday evening between Lochbuie and Brighton from somebody shooting a gun.
The fire is estimated to have burned more than 50 acres in Weld County but is under control, said Natalie Ridderbos, Brighton Fire Rescue’s spokeswoman.
The fire started around 6 p.m. at County Road 4 and Freestone Street. Fire crews were still working on hot spots at 7:30 p.m., but windy and dry conditions contributed to the fire’s rapid spread.
No structures were threatened and no injuries have been reported, Ridderbos said. No suspects are currently under investigation.
