2017 All-Colorado boys basketball team

Braxton Bertolette,

Sr., G, 6-3, 160; 28.5 points per game, 4.5 rebounds

Finished his career as the Sabercats’ all-time leading scorer, while morphing Fossil Ridge into a perennial playoff contender and leading Class 5A in scoring each of the last two seasons.

Sam Masten,

Jr., G, 6-3, 160; 22.3 points, 4.1 rebounds

The heart and soul of the Jaguars, who captured their first Continental League title and Final Four berth. Masten’s scoring, passing and leadership make him an elite prep point guard.

Colbey Ross, Eaglecrest

Sr., G, 6-0, 170; 18.4 points, 4.9 rebounds, 5.0 assists

After falling to Overland in the title game last season, the Pepperdine commit refused to let the Raptors be denied this year, making innumerable clutch baskets throughout Eaglecrest’s Class 5A title run.

Jalen Sanders,

Sr., F, 6-5, 180; 22.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 2.6 steals

No one in any classification stuffed the stat sheet quite like Sanders, whose versatility on both ends of the floor enabled the 4A Eagles to cruise to their first state title.

D’Shawn Schwartz, Sand Creek Sr

Sr., F, 6-7, 217; 25.7 points, 9.8 rebounds

The University of Colorado commit’s length and athleticism — not to mention his dunking ability — won’t soon be forgotten in Colorado Springs and beyond.

Coach John Olander, Eaglecrest

In his final season on the bench, Olander led the Raptors through a brutal conference schedule to the Centennial League title, then went out on top in a parity-laden state tournament by guiding the Raptors to the program’s second Class 5A championship.
