
A climber was injured after he lost his hold on a perch on the Rincon Wall and fell about 60 feet on Monday in Eldorado Canyon State Park, officials say.
The 32-year-old man suffered moderate injuries. He was taken to Boulder Community Hospital for treatment, according to a Boulder County sheriff’s news release. The climber’s name has not been released.
An emergency call was received at 5:39 p.m. from 9 Kneale Road. A large team of mountain rescuers and deputies responded, including members of the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group.
The rock climber had fallen while on the “Evictor” route up the Rincon Wall, according to the news release.
The climber’s friends told rescuers that he had about 15 years of experience and was familiar with the difficult climbing route.
Upon arrival, rescuers located the man, who was evacuated at about 7:15 p.m.
