A cement truck toppled Tuesday afternoon making a turn onto West Highlands Ranch Parkway, hitting two vehicles and tying up traffic in the area.
The accident happened about 2:45 p.m., when a truck driver, who was northbound on Santa Fe Drive, attempted to turn east onto the parkway and lost control, rolling the truck onto its side, said Trooper Nate Reid, a State Patrol spokesman.
No one was injured in the crash.
A trooper responding to the scene was northbound on Santa Fe and was making a U-turn to direct traffic when the patrol car was rear-ended, Reid said. No one was injured in that collision.
Meanwhile, there was a third vehicular accident in the area as traffic snarled. There were no reports of injuries in the third collision.
The typically busy parkway is closed in both directions at the intersection and likely will be shutdown through the afternoon rush hour as workers clean up a spilled load of cement and right the toppled truck to tow it away.
The cause of the accidents are under investigation.
Drivers should avoid the area.
