A man living in a shed started a fire when he accidentally kicked over a propane heater, igniting his sleeping bag, destroying the shed and damaging a van and camper.

The incident happened at about 6:30 a.m. at 603 W. Willox Lane, according to the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.

When Poudre Fire Authority firefighters arrived, the shed was in flames, according to a news release.

William Ray Hannah, 56, was treated at the scene for minor burns. Hannah, who was described as transient, was arrested on an outstanding criminal warrant. He was also charged with fourth-degree arson and issued a summons.

The fire, which caused an estimated $3,000 to $5,000 damage, was brought under control just after 7 a.m., the release said.
