West Jeffco Crime Blotter: Motorcycle gas tank smeared with toothpaste

The bike was targeted while parked behind the Buffalo Rose

Motorcycle toothpasted. Golden police went to the Buffalo Rose, 1119 Washington Ave., Golden, on March 25, where a man said his motorcycle was vandalized and items were stolen from it while it was parked in the alley behind the bar. An iPhone was missing from its mount near the handlebars, expensive gloves were also taken and someone had smeared toothpaste all over the gas tank. There were no suspects.

Conifer cab fare skipped. A taxi driver reported March 31 that two women he let out at Safeway, 27152 Main St., Conifer, never returned to pay her approximately $56 fare. The driver said he had taken the women to two other locations and that they had been upset over the amount of the fare but extended the ride to Safeway. Police were unable to find the suspects.

Gas station gets illusive threat. A clerk at Loaf and Jug, 5091 S. Jellison Way, Littleton, reported March 26 that he received a call from a woman who asked if he had a gun and told him, using expletives, that he was in a compromising position, then hung up. The clerk provided the phone number the call came from, but when police called it, a child answered and would not give the phone to an adult. Extra patrol was added to the area.

Poorly sighted man threatens DMV. Golden police went to the Colorado Motor Vehicle Office, 16950 W. Colfax Ave., Golden, on March 23 on a report of a citizen threatening an employee. The employee said a man was angry he did not pass his vision test without his glasses and needed to retake it. He threatened the employee when she asked him to leave, then threatened a security guard before leaving. Police contacted the suspect, who apologized and blamed his actions on his failure to take his medications. He was not charged.
