Colorado state Senator Dr. Irene Aguilar, right, who is a physician at Denver Health, helps deliver more than 156,000 signatures to put ColoradoCare on the 2016 ballot, outside the offices of the Colorado Secretary of State, in Denver, Friday, Oct. 23, 2015.Re: “” April 14 letter to the editor.
Letter-writer Mark Simmons is 100 percent right when he says that “Coloradans deserve reasonably priced, consistent, available health care.” What we don’t need is another amendment to our Constitution, which is why I voted against Amendment 69.
The Colorado Constitution is so screwed up now that I will vote against any future amendments even if I completely agree with the premise. The only exception was the amendment in the last election that made it harder to get new amendments on the ballot.
If your idea is so great, then put it into the statutes, not in the Constitution.
