Boulder County fire crews held a fire burning Wednesday in the foothills west of Boulder to about 2 acres and would be monitoring the fire overnight.
“There are no evacuations and no pre-evacuations,” Boulder Mountain Fire spokesman Earl Perry said. “There are no structures threatened. We are sending the crews that we can into rehab so we can restaff fully in the morning.”
Perry said a fire crew would remain on scene overnight to monitor the fire and put out hot spots. Fire crews are expected to return this morning to continue fighting the blaze.
He added that there were no containment percentages as of 9:45 p.m., but a perimeter has been established around the fire, which is burning along a ridge between Wonderland Lake and North Cedar Brook Road to the south of Wagonwheel Gap Road and Lee Hill Drive.
