Swordsman. A man was arrested March 21 after he threatened his father-in-law with a sword at a home in the 15000 block of East Nichols Avenue, Arapahoe County. The victim said he was upset the house was trashed while he was on vacation and confronted his son-in-law about a broken mirror. A struggle ensued during which the son-in-law cut his foot on mirror fragments. The son-in-law retrieved a three- to four-foot long sword and raised it in a way that made the victim fear for his life. The suspect’s mother-in-law said he has been worshiping Satan.

Man chokes girlfriend. A man was arrested for assaulting his girlfriend March 22 at an apartment in the 10200 block of East Dry Creek Road, Arapahoe County. The victim called police after she said she confronted her boyfriend about cheating. She was packing boxes to leave him when he came into their walk-in closet, threw her on the ground and choked her.

Snatch and run. A man was briefly robbed April 5 by a man who agreed to sell him an iPhone 7 for $400. He found the seller online and met him in a parking lot in the 6100 block of South Willow Drive, Greenwood Village. When he produced the cash, the seller snatched it and ran. The victim caught up to him, grabbed him and recovered the money before the suspect fled.

Burglar bust. Police responded to reports of a suspicious man in the 3500 block of South Pennsylvania Street, Englewood, April 13. Officers located several suspects who had been entering apartments there and stealing property. Two men, including one carrying a pistol, were arrested.
