AURORA — , a 13-year-old developmentally disabled boy who went missing on Sunday afternoon in Aurora, was found safe on Tuesday afternoon in Denver’s Civic Center Park.
The 13-year-old was last seen at about 3 p.m. Sunday near his home in the 1600 Block of Galena Street, according to the Aurora Police Department. He was found just after noon by what authorities are calling an alert citizen.
Police announced on Twitter shortly after 1 p.m. on Tuesday that the boy had been found safe and was being reunited with his family.
Aurora police Chief Nick Metz said Juan appeared to be well and that investigators are looking into how he got to Civic Center Park and what he was doing during the time he was missing.

Metz said Denver-area law enforcement agencies, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and FBI assisted Aurora police in the search for Juan.
His family, at a news conference on Tuesday afternoon, thanked Aurora police and the community for their help in finding the teen.
