The Broncos will recognize Ware and his family during their Week 2 game (Sept. 17) against the Cowboys in Denver.
In last month, Ware, 34, said he decided to leave multiple offers to play on the table out of consideration for his long-term health. Last season he underwent two surgeries, to repair a fractured forearm suffered in Week 2 and then a herniated disc late in the season.
“You start thinking about your quality of life,” he said. “You still have the desire to get out there and play and compete and win championships. But my body was talking to me.”
Although he rehabilitated with an intent to return, he ultimately decided to call it a career after 12 NFL seasons.
Last week he to retire as a member of the Cowboys, the team he spent the first nine years of his career.
