The Broncos on Wednesday shuffled defensive lineman by waiving Bobby Richardson — only two months after signing him — and re-signing defensive end .

Winn joined the Broncos on a one-year contract last August when former lineman Phil Taylor was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury. Winn played in all 16 games (two starts) last season and finished with 19 tackles and one fumble recovery.

The five-year veteran spent his first three seasons in Cleveland after being selected by the Browns in the sixth round of the 2012 draft. He was traded to Indianapolis before the 2015 season and played 12 games for the Colts before landing on injured reserve.

He returns to a defensive line that includes the free-agency additions of Domata Peko and Zach Kerr, and second-round draft selection DeMarcus Walker. The Broncos also have , who has a year left on his contract, starter , and the return of , a second-round pick in 2016 who was active all last season and tallied 14 tackles, one pass breakup and one fumble recovery.

“The defensive line, in my opinion, we’ve gotten better there,” coach said. “We’ve gotten bigger and stronger there with Peko and Kerr and now with Walker being a dynamic inside rusher. That helps there, and with Adam Gotsis being healthy this year. The defensive line, it looks different. We’re big and we’re strong and explosive.”
