A single-engine, experimental airplane carrying one person crashed on Thursday morning on a runway at Centennial Airport.

South Metro Fire Rescue said in a tweet that it was on scene. Initial reports indicate there were minor injuries.

Centennial Airport said on Twitter that the crash happened on its runway 10/28. The airport said the plane crashed as it approached the runway from the east.

A photo of the crashed plane showed it flipped over onto its roof with firefighters working around it.

Representatives from the National Traffic Safety Board will investigate the crash.
