A cyclist who crossed a yellow line in Sunshine Canyon and struck a truck Thursday afternoon has died.

Colorado State Patrol Cpl. Justin Williams confirmed that the cyclist died from his injuries, and he said evidence suggests that he crossed the double yellow line on a downhill curve and struck a truck pulling a trailer.

Williams said no charges are currently being filed, but the investigation remains ongoing.

The truck involved was an Xcel Energy vehicle that was westbound at the time of the crash.

Colorado State Patrol Trooper Josh Lewis said that the crash was reported about 1 p.m. on Sunshine Canyon Drive at Seven Hills Drive.
