In today’s Very Important Cookie news, the Santa Fe Cookie Company has re-opened for business as of May 1.

The speakeasy of cookie shops — Santa Fe is located in a dark hallway under 16th Street near Republic Plaza — had been closed for a couple months while owner Debbie Kuehn took a break.

But now she’s back, and downtown dwellers and workers with a sweet tooth can once again fold up their dollar bills, drop their money in the jug and grab their .

Kuehn, known as the Cookie Lady, sells her addictive, fresh-baked cookies for a mere three for $1.

Get them while they’re hot: Kuehn said she may soon have to cave to inflation and drop it down to two cookies for a dollar. Still, it’s the sweetest deal in town.
