Denver police arrest 34-year-old man in fatal downtown stabbing

The suspect was named by police as Timothy Lovelace

A 34-year-old man has been arrested in the fatal stabbing of a man at a homeless shelter Thursday evening, according to Denver Police.

Police have not yet identified the victim in the stabbing but said the man in custody is Timothy Lovelace.  He is suspected of first-degree murder in the incident.

The stabbing occurred around 5:10 p.m. Thursday at New Genesis, a homeless shelter that serves working people. It is housed in the basement of the Central Presbyterian Church.

Police have not provided any details about what led up to the stabbing.
