Northglenn police announced Friday night that officers had arrested a man after discovering a body in a burning apartment under suspicious circumstances earlier Friday.
Police and firefighters were called to a fire that broke out at 350 W. 114th Ave. at 8:55 a.m. When officers entered the apartment they found a body, Northglenn Police spokesman Cmdr. Ron Haralson. said in a news release.
Firefighters extinguished the fire, preventing it from spreading to other apartments, he said.
Detectives searched for a 1999 Navy blue Jeep Grand Cherokee in connection to the fire. After locating it, officers arrested Joshua Misegadis, 28, Renae Lehr, Northglenn public information officer, said in a news release. Police are investigating the incident as a homicide.
The victim has been identified as Joseph Montoya, 79.
