A-Basin was reporting nine inches of snow overnight Wednesday into Thursday with several more inches falling on Thursday morning. It said in a tweet “we think it’s safe to say there’s a foot of fresh out there! Go get it!”
It’s not unusual for A-Basin, which typically has the state’s longest season, to get May snowstorms.
In May 2015, the ski area was hit by a series of storms that dropped feet on its slopes. .
Up to more than two feet of snow before the spring snow storm moves out of the state.
A-Basin has a projected closing day of June 4, though the ski area has been known to change its final day of operations based on conditions.
