Fadó Irish Pub, a longtime fixture of the Lower Downtown bar and restaurant scene, has closed.

A confirmed the closure. The popular spot for pre- and post-Rockies game festivities was located across the street from Coors Field in the historic Union Pacific Freight House building.

“We’ve had a great run at LoDo in Denver. For 20 years, we’ve had so many good times, great customers and wonderful managers and employees. Thank you,” the statement said.

“Itap with a heavy heart that we close our doors but itap time to move. We’re looking for a new location in Denver and we hope to re-open soon. Thank you so much for your past patronage and your loyalty, we will see you down the road.”

The reason for the closure was not immediately apparent. Calls to the Fadó corporate office in Atlanta were not returned Monday.

A surface parking lot next to Fadó, however, recently became the subject of redevelopment talks.

As part of the , the team gained control of the parking lot, which is located between Jackson’s sports bar, the former Fadó space and the ChopHouse steak restaurant.

One possible idea floated by Rockies owner Dick Monfort was to now stored — and rarely seen — inside Coors Field.

“My goal is to have it as an extension of the stadium,” Monfort said in March.
