Amazon launches grocery delivery service in Denver

Local merchants participating in AmazonFresh include Pacific Ocean Marketplace, Western Daughters and Voodoo Doughnut

Amazon's grocery delivery service, AmazonFresh, is now available in the Denver area.

Add fresh groceries to the list of things that you can buy on Amazon.

, the e-commerce giant’s grocery delivery service, is now available in the Denver area, officials announced Wednesday.

For an extra $14.99 a month, Amazon Prime members can get unlimited free delivery of grocery orders totalling $40 or more. Same-dayԻ next-day delivery is available.

Among the items available for delivery: fresh fruit and vegetables, meat and seafood, baked goods, dairy, dry goods, pet supplies, baby items, beauty productsԻ meal kits.

Local merchants including Pacific Ocean Marketplace, Voodoo Doughnut, Western Daughters Butcher Shoppe, St. Kilian’s Cheese Shop, Wheat Ridge Poultry & Meats and Vert Kitchen are also participating in the service.

It’s the latest expansion for Amazon in the Denver area. Since the last year, the company has added Sunday deliveryԻ  services in the area. Its , a 1 million-square-foot warehouse in Aurora, could open sometime this summer.

With AmazonFresh, though, the e-commerce giant is jumping into a . Brick-and-mortar grocery stores  and  already offer delivery in the Denver metro area, as do specialized services such as Ի .
