Things are fun again and it’s not just because and his pass-friendly offense has returned. Things are fun again because , the Broncos’ leading receiver last season, finally feels good again.

Great, even.

“This is the best I’ve ever felt in nearly my whole career,” he said Thursday. “That helps. I don’t feel pain running routes on this side or that side. It’s basically equal now, so there’s more joy. I’m having more fun and am not worried about guys covering me on one side or another.”

Thomas aggravated his left hip in the Broncos’ Week 1 meeting with the Panthers. Carolina cornerback James Bradberry hit Thomas on his left side after an 8-yard reception, only Thomas’ second catch of the season.

Thomas said afterward that the injury was “something that I’ve been dealing with for a while” and that it flared up after that hit.

The pain never subsided, but Thomas never missed a game, despite being in obvious discomfort for many practices and games throughout the season.

Thomas admitted his hip never felt right last season, but with an extended offseason to recover, he enters a new season with a familiar — and welcomed offense — finally feeling healthy.
