Jose E. Argueta Romero of Carbondale was arrested Wednesday, according to the sheriff's office.A 19-year-old man has been arrested in Eagle County for allegedly having sex with a 13-year-old girl.
Jose E. Argueta Romero of Carbondale was arrested Wednesday, according to the sheriff’s office.
Romero allegedly contacted the victim through social media platforms, the sheriff’s office said, and had several sexual encounters with the victim inside his car.
The alleged relationship was reported by concerned school officials after the girl missed several days of classes. Child Protective Services became involved and notified the sheriff’s office.
Romero was booked into jail on suspicion of sexual assault on a child and held on $100,000 bail.
