Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump appears at a campaign rally in Colorado Springs on Oct. 18, 2016.Re: “” May 29 letter to the editor.
Letter-writer Rob Bartee’s claim that people who voted for Donald Trump condoned bigotry, bullying, etc., “at the very minimum” flies in the face of the well-known and well-documented fact that a huge number of Trump supporters voted for him not because of those traits, but in spite of them. Moreover, they did so only because they sincerely believed Hilary Clinton would have been even worse for our nation, albeit for different reasons. Mr. Bartee’s letter comes across as hatemongering. If that was not his intent, then his only viable option is to rethink and revise his arguments.
