A one-year-old child known only as Samuel has been found safe in Illinois, Denver police say.

Samuel had been missing since May 1, police said.

“Right now it does not appear to be a crime,” said Christine Downs, Denver police spokeswoman.

When he was last seen on May 1 with his mother, whose name has not been released, Samuel had been experiencing medical issues, according to a Denver police missing child report.

At the time, police said the mother was not being cooperative in the investigation.

“We’re thankful that the baby is safe,” Downs said.
