
Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper is slated to join his Republican counterpart from Ohio, John Kasich, on CNN Monday night to talk about their concerns with the pending .
Hickenlooper, a Democrat, and Kasich — who ran a failed 2016 bid for the presidency — and five other governors urging Congress to scrap the GOP health care bill and work toward a bipartisan solution.
The letter to Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said that Congress should focus on health care reform that cuts costs while promoting market stability and giving states more flexibility.
The , “as passed by the House, does not meet these challenges,” the governors wrote. “It calls into question coverage for the vulnerable and fails to provide the necessary resources to ensure that no one is left out, while shifting significant costs to the states.”
Hickenlooper and Kasich are expected to be on the Anderson Cooper 360 show around 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
Hickenlooper’s spokeswoman, Jacque Montgomery, said the governor will appear on the show via a connection from Denver.
