Juvenile mom and infant daughter missing from Englewood found in Rifle

Infant is healthy and unharmed, mom in custody

A 17-year-old mother who disappeared with her infant child from an assisted-living facility for adolescents has been found, along with the child, who is healthy and unharmed.

On Saturday, Jessica Schnitzer took her daughter, 7-month-old La’Nayah, from the Third Way Center, where she was , which has custody.

Englewood police on Monday afternoon said Schnitzer and her La’Nayah were found about 3:30 p.m. in Rifle. The Rifle Police Department assisted in finding the pair. Jessica is in custody on charges stemming from the case, and La’Nayah is in custody of Garfield County Social Services.

Another juvenile sought in the incident also has been found. Maree Tibbetts, 17, was found in Denver on Monday morning and is in custody of the Colorado Department of Youth Corrections, police said.
