As The Byrds (and some other famous book) so eloquently put it, “To every thing there is a season (turn, turn, turn)…a time to be born and a time to die.” For several Denver-area restaurants, it’s their time to, well, not be born.

On June 16, Justin Brunson announced that Masterpiece Luncheonette on Sherman St. and 17th Ave. had closed its doors.

“It just didn’t make financial sense anymore,” Brunson said. “You’re gonna have some failures when you try to do so much stuff. At least we’re trying. We’re really focused on the , and we want to say thanks to everyone for supporting us while we were open.”

Colorado Springs-based Southern Concepts Restaurant Group Inc. closed its three Denver-area restaurants: two Southern Hospitality locations,–and Carve Barbecue on Colorado Blvd.

“We weren’t able to achieve the sales level we needed to continue,” said Jim Fenlason, interim CEO of Southern Concepts.

Turn, turn, turn, Denver restaurant scene. Turn, turn, turn.
