Former Denver Broncos running back Clinton Portis in 2013 contemplated murdering the people he felt were responsible for mismanaging a large portion of his $43.1 million career earnings, .
“It wasn’t no beat up. It was kill,” Portis told Sports Illustrated.
According to the report, Portis spent several late nights and early mornings camped out in his car with a gun, waiting for the men he felt cost him his fortune and were ignoring his calls.
A television producer friend with training as a family therapist helped talk Portis out of violence by urging him to see the people who loved him, and reminding him of his four sons.
