DeAngelo Williams hasn’t decided if he’s going to retire from the NFL yet, but the 11-year veteran is keeping his post-playing days options open with another athletic endeavor: professional wrestling.
Williams, 34, teamed up with Moose — whose real name is Quinn Ojinnaka and another former NFL player — to take on Eli Drake and Chris Adonis in a tag team match Sunday at Impact Wrestling’s Slammiversary XV pay-per-view. The two former football players would win.
Pro sport stars are no strangers to pro wrestling. From Lawrence Taylor taking on Bam Bam Bigelow in the main event of WWE’s WrestleMania XI to Karl Malone teaming up with Diamond Dallas Page to face Dennis Rodman and Hulk Hogan at Bash at the Beach, pro athletes have made their mark in the squared circle for decades. Usually they’re well protected in the ring to help counteract their limited experience.
But not Williams. The former Steelers and Panthers running back performed a bevy of moves that were impressive. Really impressive — especially for someone who only had three days of training.
Thanks moose for the match and friendship and yes it was only 3 days and it was damn rough

Williams finished the match by performing a flog splash onto Adonis from the top rope that was meant to go through the table. It was, well, rough to say the least.
“The table wasn’t a backyard Cookout table that’s for sure,” Williams tweeted after the match.
