
An Edgewater police officer who suffered a heart attack last month while arresting a combative DUI suspect has been released from a hospital.
Cpl. Michael Nesbitt is recovering at home after his release from Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge, according to an Edgewater Police Department news release.

The incident happened at about 2 a.m. June 23 when officers attempted to stop the driver of a motorized scooter for . The driver of the scooter, identified as Connor Michael Dougherty, 26, wrecked the vehicle in the parking lot of Jefferson High School, 2305 Pierce St., police said.
Dougherty has been charged multiple crimes including second-degree assault, eluding, resisting, obstruction, reckless endangerment and DUI. He is free on bond.
