Just give me an hour. Police arrested a drunken man June 30 for threatening a panhandler with a knife on the corner of Colorado 85 and East 60th Avenue, Commerce City. The suspect initially ran up to the median where the victim was standing and started yelling at him. The victim said he was just going to be there for an hour to make some money. Witnesses said the drunken man kept running at the victim and eventually pulled a knife out. The victim hit the man with his walking stick and sent him to the hospital.

Block party’s over. Frustrated neighbors living in the 9700 block of Lima Circle, Commerce City, called police July 1 because a house party full of teenagers was getting out of control. People reported drag racing, bottles being thrown in the street and gunshots. When officers arrived, they saw 150 kids run out of the backyard in all directions. No guns or shell casings were located.

Passed out in the road. Someone called police to the 300 block of East 120th Avenue, Northglenn, because a drunken man was asleep face down in the street June 27. He was arrested.

Ex steals cell phone. A witness called police to the 1300 block of Lucille Court, Northglenn, because they heard a couple fighting June 18. A woman’s ex, whom she has a protection order against, showed up to her house and stole her phone.

Schoolyard thief. Someone stole an irrigation back-flow preventer from the Adams County School District 14 grounds, 5291 E. 60th Ave., Commerce City, on June 30.
