Douglas County crime blotter: Two construction workers fight, but neither presses charges

Workplace squabble. Police responded to a fight at a construction site at the intersection of Hyland Hills Street and Legae Road, Castle Pines, June 24. According to a police report, two workers got in an argument over how a machine was being operated. One, claiming the other man “was in his face,” bumped his co-worker with his chest. The other man, claiming he thought his coworker was going to hit him first, then punched that man in the nose, causing it to bleed. Neither pressed charges against the other.

Wiz bang, flames. The resident of a home in the 4700 block of Fenwood Drive, Highlands Ranch, accidentally started a small grass fire in the open space behind this home June 25, according to a police report. Neighbors called police after spotting the 5-foot in diameter blaze, which was quickly extinguished. According to police, the resident was lighting legal fireworks on their back patio when one took off in the air and landed in the open space. No charges were filed.

Home not broken into. Police investigated reports that multiple people broke into a home in the 13300 block of Virgo Drive, Douglas County, June 24. Neighbors called the homeowner to say they saw a group of people in the home having a party. According to police reports, officers entered the home with the homeowner and found nothing out of place.

Car broken into on highway. Police are investigating an abandoned vehicle found on the side of Interstate 25 near the RidgeGate Parkway exit in Lone Tree. The vehicle was found June 18. A criminal trespass report was taken, according to police records.
