Greenlee, 75, is charged with vehicular homicide and criminally negligent homicide, vehicular assault, two counts of careless driving causing injury, reckless driving, speeding, reckless endangerment and improper passing on the left in the death of Pat Lucero.

At a hearing conducted by phone on Thursday morning, prosecutors said they need time to review a potential plea offer with the family of the victims before they send it to Greenlee’s attorneys for review. Senior Judge Jon Kolomitz said he was “frustrated” with the continued delays in the case, but scheduled a new arraignment hearing for Aug. 21.

Greenlee was one of the drivers in a five-vehicle crash on Dec. 28 that killed Lucero, 70, of Monte Vista, and left Greenlee and his wife hospitalized with critical injuries. , according to an accident report. The report cited Greenlee’s aggressive driving and improper passing on the left as contributing factors to the crash.

Investigators said Greenlee was driving a 2003 Cadillac Escalade westbound on U.S. 160 between Walsenburg and Alamosa when he shifted into the oncoming lane to pass a vehicle, and struck Lucero’s 2010 Toyota Camry.
