“Celebration of Life” for Captain Earthman on tap August 12 at Taunaz Tavern

The iconic vendor passed from brain cancer on July 10, but his wife is planning one last bash where beer and stories will flow

Captain Earthman is having one last party.

Brent Doeden, the iconic vendor who worked Rockies games from 1993 to 2016, passed away from brain tumors at the age of 61.

But his wife Becky Scharfenberg is planning one last blowout bash for Earthman, a “Celebration of Life” to honor one of Coors Field’s

The party is on August 12 at Taunaz Tavern in Arvada (10480 Ralston Road) from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Scharfenberg set up a — something to be thought of as final tips for all the beers delivered down the aisle by Earthman over the years. Plus, any leftover proceeds from the GoFundMe go directly to the Glenn Garcelon Foundation, which aims to empower and support brain tumor patients and their families.
