The Colorado Rapids have officially inked 1860 Munich midfielder Stefan Aigner to a 3 1/2-year deal, the team announced Wednesday.
Aigner, 29, will occupy an international spot for the Rapids and officially be added to the roster after the club receives a receipt of his International Transfer Certificate and P-1 Visa.
The contractap monetary details have not been disclosed.
“We’re excited to add a player of Stefan’s caliber to our roster for the next three-and-a-half years,” Rapids interim general manager said in a news release. “As an organization, we are committed to fielding a forward-thinking side and bringing in Stefan — a technical and versatile player who can excel in multiple attacking roles — will help us achieve that vision.”
Aigner spent last season with his hometown club, 1860 of Bundesliga’s 2nd division, and recorded four goals and three assists (24 appearances).
The German winger played with Eintracht Frankfurt of Bundesliga’s top division from 2012-16. In 136 matches with the club, he scored 28 goals and logged 27 assists. Aigner appeared in seven Europa League games during the 2013-14 season.
