Bleach brawl. On July 21, Arvada police responded to a residence in the 7900 block of Chase Circle in response to a report of assault. According to a police report, the two individuals living at the residence got into an argument after one roommate poured bleach into the washing machine. The argument was eventually taken outside where one roommate kicked the other “as hard as he could” in the back of the knee. The injured roommate wanted to press charges. The other roommate was issued a summons for assault.
Forgetful shopper. An Arvada officer was dispatched to Target, 7899 Wadsworth Blvd., in reference to shoplift incident. According to a police report, a customer in Target on July 20 gathered $168.74 of merchandise in his cart, ordered a drink at the store’s Starbucks and spoke with clerk about signing up for a Target credit card before leaving the store without paying. An assets protection leader confronted the man who said he had simply forgot to pay, but per Target’s policy, the man was cited with petty theft.
Mother knows best. According to a police report, police responded to a residence in the 9500 block of West 75th Avenue., Arvada, where they found a mother and son arguing. The mother told officers her son has a history of alcoholism, and had come home drunk. When she told him he could not have another beer he became physically combative with her. She told officers she wanted to press charges in hopes of helping him.
Fool me twice. Officers in Olde Town Arvada issued a summons for smoking prohibited to a woman at McIlvoy Park, 5750 Upham St. on July 26. According to a police report, the woman was also issued a trespass order banning her from the park for one year. Approximately an hour after the first confrontation, the officers saw the woman in the park. When they contacted her, she became verbally combative. A marijuana pipe was found on her person. She was cited for unlawful entry and possession of drug paraphernalia.
