Re: July 31 news story.

It was with incredulity that I read attorney David Lane’s comments that his clients were not vulgar and deserved an apology for Judge William J. Martinez’s comments in his ruling. He is dead wrong.

I was in and out of the Lindsey-Flanigan courthouse every other week for nine years. I encountered the jury-nullification protesters repeatedly. Repeatedly, they dropped the F-bomb and other expletives, frequently through a bullhorn. They repeatedly aggressively approached me, tried to shove their literature into my hands, and, despite my requests to stop, continued to harangue me with their rhetoric.

I found it unpleasant to say the least, and especially so since I had to be there for my job. Apparently Lane never actually observed what was going on, or his clients were remarkably well behaved when he was there.
