Longmont fire investigators officially have ruled that seven grass fires along the St. Vrain Greenway Sunday night were intentionally set.

Molly Cropp, fire department spokeswoman, said anyone who witnessed the ignition of the fires between about 7 and 8 p.m. Sunday or has more information should call investigator Dave Ptaszek at 303-591-5858.

The fires were located just north of Roger’s Grove, east along the foot path to South Main Street, and near Ken Pratt Boulevard, according to Longmont Assistant Fire Chief Dan Higgins.

Some of the fires grew to roughly 50 square feet to 75 feet square feet before being extinguished, Higgins said. He added the fires caused no injuries or structure damage.
