Re: “Migrants are left to suffer and die,” July 31 editorial (.
This devastating editorial is proof-positive that immigration laws, which have not been enforced for decades, need to be enforced. This is one of President Donald Trump’s main campaign promises — he said he will reform and enforce immigration laws where work permits and legal entry passes are the rule, and those wanting citizenship will need to apply, learn the English language, and wait their turn.
There are millions of illegals in the U.S. It is imperative that Congress and governors and mayors support President Trump in undertaking this tremendous task. It will not be easy, some people will be hurt, but it needs to start somewhere; otherwise, the deaths and suffering and inconveniences for illegals we hear about every day will continue.
The fix will start with building the border wall and governors and mayors banning sanctuary cities and promoting law and order.
