
Two veterinarians and a retired psychotherapist are vying to be the Democratic party’s candidate in an effort unseat in the 4th Congressional District next year.
Longmont veterinarian Karen McCormick is the most recent entry in the field of Democratic candidates seeking the office of the Windsor lawmaker. Castle Rock veterinarian Chase Kohne filed to join the race on May 11, and Firestone resident Larry Germanson, a retired psychotherapist, filed on March 30.
The multiple-county 4th Congressional District is deeply Republican and includes all of Weld County, along with all or parts of several other counties. It extends into Boulder County to include all of Longmont.
Buck, the GOP incumbent, won the seat in 2014 and was re-elected in 2016. He is currently an active candidate for re-election in 2018, although The Denver Post reported last month that if incumbent decides to run for governor.
